Auto-Updater

Snipsy includes a built-in auto-updater that checks for new versions on startup.

How It Works

  1. On launch, Snipsy silently checks for updates in the background
  2. If an update is available, a download icon appears in the status bar (bottom-right, next to the version number)
  3. Click the icon to see release notes and the new version number
  4. Click Download & Install to update — progress is shown inline
  5. Once downloaded, Snipsy relaunches with the new version

Update Indicator

The update indicator appears as a small download icon with a pulsing accent dot. It’s intentionally subtle — it won’t interrupt your workflow or your demo.

What Gets Updated

The updater replaces the entire application binary. Your projects and data are untouched — they live in your project folders, not inside the app.

Disabling Updates

The updater runs automatically on startup. There’s no setting to disable it, but it only checks — it never downloads or installs without your explicit click.
