Video Workflow

This guide covers the complete workflow for adding video content to your demos.

Record the screen content you want to show during your demo. Common tools:

  • OBS Studio — free, cross-platform screen recording
  • Windows Game Bar (Win+G) — quick capture on Windows
  • macOS Screenshot (Cmd+Shift+5) — built-in screen recording
  1. Open your project and navigate to the Videos view
  2. Click + to import — select your video file
  3. The file is copied into your project’s videos/ directory
  4. It now appears in the video library
  1. Navigate to the Clips view
  2. Click + to create a new video snippet
  3. Select your imported video as the source
  4. Use the clip editor timeline to set:
    • Start time — drag the playhead or use frame-step buttons
    • End time — where playback stops
    • Preview the trimmed range and jump between stops with the arrow keys
    • Pause stops — hold on important frames for narration
    • Spotlights — highlight one or more regions at a pause stop
  5. Configure settings:
    • Speed — 2× for builds, 1× for detail work
    • Muted — on by default, toggle off if audio matters
    • End behavior — close the window or freeze on the last frame
    • Click to play — show the first frame and wait for a click
  6. Assign a hotkey
  7. Save

After creating your clip:

  • Test playback from the clips list using the play button
  • Adjust timing — drag the playhead in the clip editor for precise trimming
  • Rehearse stops — use Left / Right during preview or playback to jump between the clip start, pause stops, and clip end
  • Try different speeds — sometimes 1.5× feels more natural than 2×
  • Check on your target monitor if using multi-monitor setup

Enter demo mode and trigger your video clips with their assigned hotkeys. The video plays fullscreen, your audience sees a polished recording, and you narrate over it.
